Honey Ginger Drink

Try this ginger with honey drink.Drink it either hot or cold.
You can also go with cinnamon stick-that is,honey, ginger and cinnamon if you don't mind the taste of the cinnamon
which is I don't like.I only go for honey and ginger.Honey acts as a sweetener to the ginger which in turn taste nice and palatable.

Honey and ginger has some health benefits.
Google up and you will know.I'm not going to talk long over a recipe post.

Instructions:

Place the ginger in a cup,(a few slices about 4).If cinnamon stick is use,add it together with the ginger.

Pour hot boiling water full into the cup.Let it sit for 15 minutes. Then add in honey to taste,1-2 tablespoon.

Add some ice cubes if prefer to drink cold.

How To Make Roselle Drink

This is roselle drinks.Last week I went to the night market and this red, beautiful fruits caught my attention.I then ask the woman selling this to confirm whether this is roselle and she said yes.I was told by the woman that it can be made into juice and jam and many other uses.
To find out more,read here:
https://www.thestar.com.my/lifestyle/food/features/2015/04/12/roselle-makes-you-feel-blooming-marvellous/

I've ever heard of roselle but don't know much about it except that it can be made into drinks and a relative of mine had once grown plenty at her backyard.
Happily,I bought the roselle back and immediately went to the kitchen to cook. The woman told me to de-seed first, that is take the seed out from the red calyx and boil only the calyx with a pot of water and add in some sugar for sweetness and taste.

Above is a short clip showing how I made my roselle juice.

25 roselle(calyx)

1400 ml of water

5 tbsps castor sugar

Instructions:

1.After deseed,boil the calyces(roselle) in a pot of water.

2.Add in sugar and continue boiling for 30 minutes. The water will turned red.

3.Leave to cool and chilled in the fridge. After chilling, the drinks will taste nicer.

Soya Black Bean Milk

While I was making this soy black bean milk,my head keeps thinking"why do I want to make when I can just buy it cheaply at the supermarket?"
But then and again, that's me who never stop doing things.
Earlier on I had seen packets of soybeans from the supermarket, decided to buy home and make fresh soya bean milk with the black beans that I still had at home in my kitchen shelf. To my dismay, the black bean at home weren't left that much,so I just use how much is left.

I soaked the beans for 7 hours before making. It took me the entire afternoon to make fresh soya black beans milk and enjoy drinking it in the evening.

Ingredients:

300g Soya bean

120g Black bean

171/4 cups water(about 4 liters+)

250g of sugar

15 pcs pandan/screwpine leaves for fragrant(tied into knots(3pcsx5)

Wash the beans in a basin.Soak the beans overnight.I soak it in the early morning and come back in the afternoon to make.By then the beans have already soften.Discard the water away and clean 3 or 4 times.Rub the skin away with fingers.
Blend the beans by 3 times in a blender with some of the water taken from the 171/4 cups.

Each time enough water to cover the beans.

Strain through a muslim cloth in a rice cooker with the steamer tray on top.Transfer to a tall clean stock pot.At this point I used the net to strain one more time through to the stock pot to prevent any residue left.

Do the same for the rest of the beans.(blending, straining and transferring to the stock pot and straining one more time through a net).

It is now ready to bring the soy black bean mixture to a boil.Add the rest of the water in.
Throw in the knotted pandan leaves.

Boil using high heat at first, and when it start to boil, lower to medium heat and always stir the mixture.Boil for about 35 minutes.Add sugar and boil for another 10 minutes.

Turn off the heat.

Drink it hot or cold as you preferred.I like both hot and cold.

Note:Another method is to boil the blended beans first then strain it later on and when straining is already done, put sugar into it and boil a few more minutes to let the sugar
dissolves completely.

3 Layered Tea

3 Layer Tea
Goodness!I can't really see a three layered! My tea wasn't black enough.Nevertheless, the taste was the same as you drink in any drink shop or coffee house.I should have gone out to buy a black or red tea to make my three layered tea.The weather was so hot yesterday and I was lazy to go anywhere except bringing my children to school and back from school.I have only left one tea bag from Lipton.I guess I must have put in too much water for only a tea bag. This is so as to let everyone in my family have an equal share of the tea.My son always called for this drink whenever he was in the eatery shop. This time,I took a turn in making it at home for him. It's not that difficult to make. Some people use gula melaka, but I used gula apong.I wondered these two are the same or not.
Here is how:

30ml gula apong
30ml evaporated milk
some ice cubes
tea

First pour the gula apong into the glass, then put in the ice cubes, then the evaporated milk and lastly, fill up the top with tea. That's it!Enjoy your 3 Layered Tea.
